YouTube is an indispensable tool for growing a business but only if new users find what you post. And the key to being discovered on the platform is having unsubscribed users find your videos in their search results. My name is Aiden Robbins. I'm a filmmaker and content creator. And today I want to share four techniques you can use to optimize your YouTube videos for search.
-
The first technique is to utilize tags and these can be added to existing YouTube videos, but it's best to add them before the video goes live. Tags are most important for search because you're adding specific keywords relating to the content of your video. When you're deciding which tags to use, think about how people are going to find your video and try and reverse engineer that. And add the keywords they're going to search for when they're looking for what you're putting out.
-
You can also use Google trends to compare 2 search terms and find out which one is better for you to use. So, for example, I made a video about a topic that has two names, long exposure photography and slow shutter photography. And to decide which one to use in the tags, I searched up both terms and compared them on Google trends and found out that one had a higher volume of searches than the other.
-
Make sure your tags are relevant to the video you're posting. So for example, minimalism is a highly searched topic, but it doesn't relate to the content I post. So I wouldn't use it in my tags. You can also try using an SEO optimization plugin, like Vid IQ and what this does is, auto-fill's highly searched tags as suggestions, and also grades your tags in comparison to your video description and title.
-
Now, Vid IQ has a paid option, but both of those features are completely free. In addition to adding the right tags, make sure to include the few most important keywords in your video title. For example, I make a lot of Adobe Premier Pro tutorials on YouTube. So, so I make sure to add Premiere Pro and tutorial in the title, the same goes for your video description.
-
一定要包括足够的那些关键词abo血型ut the content of your video. The best way I've found to do this naturally is to just write up a quick description of the video and make sure to incorporate plenty of those keywords into it. To recap, you can optimize your YouTube videos for search by adding specific tags relevant to your content, using Google trends to compare two tags, using an SEO optimization plugin and including keywords in your title and description.

And now you should be on your way to accelerating your YouTube and business growth. Thank you so much for watching and make sure to check out some of the other videos on Shopify Compass.
