Shop Campaigns automates your online advertising and delivers results at fixed cost. Shop Campaigns covers the cost of clicks and impressions, so you only pay for new customers.

Setting Up Shop Campaigns

After receiving your invitation to Shop Campaigns, use the following steps to start automating customer acquisition.

  1. Go to the Shop Campaigns app page and install the app.
  2. ClickGet startedto begin setup. If you haven’t been invited yet, then clickApply for accessto register your interest. You'll receive a response to your application as access to Shop Campaigns is expanded.
  3. Review your fixed cost per customer and select a daily budget. For more information, please read aboutwhat to consider when setting your budget.
  4. Activate Shop Campaigns.
  5. Check back within a week to review the performance of Shop Campaigns, including new customers, sales, and average order value.

Who is eligible to use Shop Campaigns?

When will my application for Shop Campaigns be accepted?

Early access candidates are invited to Shop Campaigns based on how well the product will work for their store. New applicants are reviewed regularly. The number of eligible stores will increase over time.

Can I keep running my existing Facebook and Instagram ads?

Yes. You can continue to run other ad campaigns in parallel to Shop Campaigns. It is up to you to decide how to allocate your overall marketing budget.

You're only charged by Shop Campaigns for orders attributed to Shop Campaigns ads. If a customer views a Shop Campaigns ad and makes a purchase, then that purchase counts as an order attributed to Shop Campaigns.

What channels does Shop Campaigns use to find new customers?

Shop Campaigns initially advertises to potential new customers on Facebook and Instagram. Additional channels will be added over time as the product expands.

How will ad creative be generated?

Shop Campaigns pulls product images, descriptions, and pricing fromyour storeand uses those as ad creative.

What will the ads look like?

These ads will look like thestandard ad typesyou see on Facebook or Instagram. The ads are published under the Shop brand, and take the buyer to a Shop branded product details page for your product. They can checkout directly from this page or continue to your online store to keep shopping.

What should I consider when setting my budget?

When you set your budget for Shop Campaigns, consider the following:

  • Cost Per Customer (CPC): Your CPC is the amount you pay per new customer. When deciding whether to accept the Shop Campaigns CPC, it can be helpful to think of it as a percentage of your average order value (AOV).
  • 每天花: Selecting a daily budget depends on your overall marketing budget and business goals. The higher your budget, the more effective Shop Campaigns is at bringing you new customers at a guaranteed cost. This is because the more an ad is shown,the more ad delivery systems can learn and improvefor your store.
  • Monthly total spend: Every new customer Shop Campaigns brings you costs only what you’ve been guaranteed for your CPC, but you should still make sure that you’re comfortable with the monthly total spend.

How will I be billed for Shop Campaigns?

You're billed for the first order from every new customer that Shop Campaigns acquires for you. Billing happens monthly, or any time your current cycle’s amount owed exceeds your threshold, whichever comes first. Your threshold depends on your Shopify Plan. To view yours, go to the Bills section of yourBilling pagein your Shopify Admin. If you can’t find your threshold, then contact Shopify Support.

How does Shopify define a new customer?

Shop Campaigns defines a new customer as someone who has not bought from your store in at least 180 days. Shop Campaigns uses a proprietary attribution model to link purchases to ad impressions.

How can I pause using Shop Campaigns?

If for any reason you want to pause using Shop Campaigns for your customer acquisition, you can deactivate it in the app settings. Uninstalling the app automatically deactivates Shop Campaigns campaigns as well.

In both cases, ad impressions are no longer served. You're still billed for orders from new customers attributed to ad impressions that were served before you deactivated Shop Campaigns. This might continue for up to 14 days after deactivation.

Keep in mind that pausing Shop Campaigns can disrupt thelearning phase of ad sets. This disruption can inhibit the performance of ads, bringing you fewer sales.
