About Shopify

Opportunity is not evenly distributed. Shopify puts independence within reach for anyone with a dream to start a business. We propel entrepreneurs and enterprises to scale the heights of their potential. Since 2006, we’ve grown to 10,000 employees and generated over $496 billion in sales for millions of merchants in 175 countries.

这是攸关的工作,直接影响people’s lives as much as it transforms your own. This is putting the power of the few in the hands of the many, is a future with more voices rather than fewer, and is creating more choices instead of an elite option.

About you

Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Shopifolk thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. That means Shopify is not the right place for everyone.

Before you apply, consider if you can:
  • 非常关心你做什么和commerce better for everyone
  • Excel by seeking professional and personal hypergrowth
  • Keep up with an unrelenting pace (the week, not the quarter)
  • Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change
  • Bring critical thought and opinion
  • Embrace differences and disagreement to get shit done and move forward
  • Work digital-first for your daily work

About the role

We're looking for a Sales Lead for our Core Cross-Sell team, someone who can lead a team and drive revenue growth like nobody's business.

The Core Cross-Sell team is a merchant and talent accelerator that drives exponential revenue growth for Shopify. We fuel sustainable merchant expansion through timely product adoption, excellent sales craft, strategic initiatives, and partnerships.

As a Sales Lead, you'll be responsible for managing a team in the Core market segment that is driving Shopify’s product adoption in our current merchant base. You’ll play a major role in refining our sales strategy, outbound, and cross-sell motions.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a master of coaching and leading, and skilled at two-sided account planning, pre-sale qualifying, value proposition mapping, partner engagement, negotiations, close, and pre-implementation planning.

But let's be real - this isn't your average sales leadership gig. Our product enables entrepreneurship to create new value for the world, and unlocks unlimited personal growth for the people who build it. We're not interested in a zero-sum game where only a few people win. We believe in impact, low process, and high trust. We want independent thinkers who seek growth and care deeply about what they do.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • The revenue growth results for your sales acceleration team with books of business composed of high growth e-commerce companies.
  • Setting clear, mission-aligned expectations for the team and prioritizing resources to empower them to act and respond quickly.
  • Motivating, inspiring and holding team members accountable to metrics that are aligned to company success.
  • Leading a forecast and pipeline management process with your team that fosters a culture of accountability and rewards results, while giving the business the transparency it needs to plan ahead.
  • Communicating strategic information to the team and partners to ensure their success.
  • Solving complex issues with strategic decisions and coaching the team, influencing team development, and allocating resources beyond your own team.
  • Working to monthly and quarterly horizons and keeping the team tightly connected in a remote environment.
  • Having a team-level scope and making an impact on the team and reports while keeping in mind the bigger picture of making commerce better for everyone.
  • Attracting, recruiting, and retaining top talent.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sales management experience preferred with a heavy emphasis on top performance in pipeline generation and managing volume-based, multi-product sales cycles
  • 4+ years closing experience in a solution selling type of sale where multiple stakeholders are involved and ROI needs to be proven
  • An understanding of how to build teams and culture considering recruitment, people development and coaching
  • The ability to leverage data to inform coaching, feedback and development conversations
  • Have a customer centric focus with a consultative sales philosophy.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Salesforce
  • Proven track record with quantitative methods to measure, manage, and optimize efforts and allocation of resources
  • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and passion to coach others
  • A growth mindset and a strong desire to continuously improve your skillset and your team's skills as well
  • A collaborative mindset to proactively work with both your peers and cross-functional teams to make our people, our merchants and Shopify better
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of eCommerce, Fintech and retail landscapes and knowledge of multi-channel online/offline retail
